Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (new with Johnny Depp) is my 5-year-olds favorite movie. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (original with Gene Wilder) is in his top 10. He wanted to be an Oompa Loompa from the new movie for Halloween, but I convinced him to be the old-school one (because I thought the costume was better). As a surprise, I gave him a Wonka Bar with a golden ticket on Halloween night just before trick or treating. He thought it was the coolest thing ever! I would have paid more than I did for this to see his reaction.

So worth it! A king-size Hershey bar fit really well, though not quite perfect (he didn’t notice). The golden ticket looked great, though a little was thicker of paper than the one in the movie. I also cut a scalloped edge around it like the movie (it came with straight edges). If you feel like this is something your kid MAY like, DO IT!
